A marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience in media, Amy Dalton's career spans book, newspaper, magazine, and Internet publishing. She came to Topix from Knight Ridder Digital, where she directed marketing and advertising efforts for the company's 32 newspaper web sites and its national vertical properties, including CareerBuilder.com, Cars.com, Apartments.com, ShopLocal.com, and the Real Cities Network. Previously, she managed public relations for PC World magazine and its web site PCWorld.com, and held several marketing and publicity roles at book publisher HarperSanFrancisco.


Chris Hutchins

Chris Hutchins
Business Development, SimpleGeo

Chris Hutchins works in Business Development at SimpleGeo where they build kick-ass tools for developers to easily integrate location features into their apps. He is also the founder of LaidOffCamp, a movement aimed at helping the unemployed learn new skills during the recession.

He spent his previous life as an investment banker in New York at Allen & Co. and later as a management consultant at Monitor Group. Chris graduated from Colorado State University and now lives in San Francisco.

Chad Reed is the Director of Field Marketing and Sales for Pelago, makers of Whrrl. He is responsible for developing relationships with merchants and brands to help expand their presence into mobile, social and location. Reed also develops the marketing and sales plans to support each client’s specific goals and manages all field marketing efforts, including street teams and special events.

Prior, Reed spent nine years with Red Bull energy Drink in a myriad of roles, most recently serving as Brand Manager for the West Coast and Southern Markets. He started his career as the Regional Manager for Big Dog’s Hospitality, a restaurant group based in Las Vegas where he also ran special events. Reed graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.

Simon Salt is the CEO and founder of integrated marketing communications agency IncSlingers. He is an author, writer, blogger, entrepreneur and a nationally-recognized speaker on the hottest topics in social media. His book, “Social Location Marketing,” which covers how marketers can best make use of social location sharing sites such as Foursquare, Gowalla, Yelp, Whrrl, etc, will be published by Pearson publications in January 2011. As a Social Media influencer, Simon has been sought out by both large brands and international PR companies. Most recently, he has worked with Hanes and Chevrolet as both an advisor and social media advocate.
